Black-capped chickadee sitting on an aspen branch. Whether food is plentiful or scarce, their curiosity and bouncy flight pattern are ever present. These little birds are a delight for me to watch all year long!
My name is Mara. I am Minnesota born and raised. Four seasons, forests, farms, and 10,000 lakes have given me a deep appreciation for nature. Photography helps me to share this love with others. And, once in awhile, I find myself interested in sociology. Go figure.
I think my favorite bird is the chickadee, too. I don’t know what I’d do in the winter without the sprightly chickadees in our spruce tree and backyard gardens! I also like the juncos. In the summer, I love the wood thrushes for their beautiful, haunting music that fills the woods at our cabin. Thank you for checking out my blog, CHICKADEE 1220!

Yes, the wood thrushes and juncos are wonderful as well. I posted a recent shot of a junco on a yellowed hosta. I thought it showed off its gray feathers rather nicely.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I will watch for your posts as well 🙂 .
I always say that my favorite bird is the one that I’ve just seen. AKA I pretty much like them all.
